Real life can be a struggle

When real life gets hard the only thing left to do in soldier on. Or at least that is what I’m telling myself. As a Marysville real estate broker, I enjoy the benefits of self employment. Whether that is selling enough homes to take time and go skiing or work my butt off to hopefully get a home sold. Right now its the latter with a big struggle on 2 deals, both in Marysville, that have financing issues, roof leaks, and an inability to have title insurance.

To make work more challenging because I don’t have enough to do already, I’ve started working on a new relocation page for hospitals in Everett. The meat and potatoes are there, that sounds good as I’m starving, with all the main hospitals there yet during my research many more turned up. Mostly smaller private practice clinics that may eventually make there way to the list. The page is all text, which is el boring so tomorrow, since it is sunny, I’m going out to take photos – I’ll probably post a few on Facebook as well.

Also, I haven’t seen my girlfriend, other than lunch yesterday, since Sunday. That sounds like an easy fix yet I’ve been enjoying staying at my place. Since we have been dating, just over a year, I stay a lot at her house because she has two little girls and a dog. Where as my place has nothing and its quiet small – similar to my Kirkland studio. It doesn’t sound like a big deal just to drive to Arlington to see her yet when I live out of a backpack and drive during my job it sucks to get off work and hoof to another town (distance has ended a few my relationships). Needless to say it’s wearing on me. In one year she has stayed one time at my place. Sometimes I find it odd yet can understand. The guy with no kids has to make all the sacrifices.

We also discussed what it would look like if we got married and so far nothing for her would change yet everything in my life. Another big thing is where would all my stuff go? More likely in box her garage or my storage unit. A depressing thought. So who knows where it will as I really like her and don’t want to loose her yet if there isn’t balance I will end up loosing it and walking away from the relationship. Since I’m venting, she can be bossy.

Well that makes me feel a bit better getting it off my fat chest – yes – I’ve put on a few pounds as of late.

A busy ass weekend for me

This weekend was busy and it felt great to get a lot of things accomplished. Friday night, Kin members and I ran through the Rift of Nurz Ghashzu. It is a spectacle in my opinion because it takes 12 people of a variety of skills to accomplish killing the bosses. Unfortunately we didn’t run it fast enough and only got to Barz before we all had to go to bed. My Champion is pretty tough and is going to get a major upgrade with the release of Mines of Moria.

Saturday morning came to quick and it was time to set into another project; moving fish and cleaning Double D’s fish tanks. Since the previous fish tank post much has happened; fish have be relocated to other homes because they were getting to big for the tank, two additional tanks have been and one more awaits completion in the garage. So I moved baby Jags from the 30 gallon to the 10 gallon, baby Jags from the 150 gallon to the 10 gallon and move the Jag parents into the 30 gallon. Quite the operation but it is all done but the Jag parents are all stressed on in their new home.

Then it was off to Dad’s house to get the covers for the Zodiac and hung out with and talked about stuff. He says is nice to be done with the house and have some done town; well if he gets any down time. After that it was off to a friends house to watch the free fights on Spike. The fights where OK but nothing to spectucular. I gotta give Leben. He fought excellent, and I think he won, and has a great attitude even in the face of a loss. Stand up guy! Also heard he has been sober…it does shows. Well that raps up the Saturday.

Now Sunday was here and it was time for more chores. I got up and started cleaning around the house, getting laundry going…etc and then watch 8 Mile on TV. Never seen it before, even being a Eminem fan, and really liked it. The clown offs where hilarious, had cool beats and were just awesome to watch. It was cool how Eminem shut the dude up at the end! Brilliant. Makes me wonder if that is how he did find his style, dunno.

After the movie it was time to clean the boat and get it ready for winter, badda bing badda boom, done. The clean the truck inside and out, its raining today, and get back to doing laundry, the kitchen, go to town for groceries and dinner. So I ate some Pho and watched the Seahawks game (it was another dismal performance with more injuries) and then worked on a website well into the evening.

Busy busy and the weekend just flew by and it is nearing the end of my Monday. Well gotta run…have a few things left to do at work besides blogging ;)

Just a bunch of stuff

Work has been a challenge and a half lately and all I can do is put one foot in front of the other. I started a new project for our Lord of the Rings Online Kinship; Knights of the Third Age. The site is in the beginning stages but will get going fairly soon. Got some kinks to work out especially in the forum.

On another front. The Seahawks start the regular season this weekend but not sure if I will get to watch it. My dad is getting married on Saturday and the family will all still be in town. Its cool though since I do not get to see them on a regular basis (they do not live in WA).

Hmmm, what else. Oh yea, the other day I rolled out Goingbigger.org. Not sure what to do with the site but maybe make it an extreme sports things center around skiing. But that would be mean no more skiing stuff on this blog; or just a major reduction. Who knows, only time will tell.

I guess that it is about it. Not to exciting these days. Did take the Zodiac out on the Puget Sound for some hot laps with family, that was fun :)

Seafair 2008 on Lake Washington

Last weekend my girlfriend, Jyll, and I were joined by friends out on Lake Washington for Seafair. It was one of the most relaxing days as no one talked about work and laughed a lot. The day started off by launching the boat at Magnusson Park directly west of Kirkland. There were some yahoos trying to launch their boats and all it took me was to pull out, back, brake launch the boat and with Rudy on a tagline. Boat launched!

We drove across Lake Washington into Kirkland and picked up Jyll off the docks (I got all confused and drove around looking for Kirkland for like 10 minutes). Then the day was rolling. Girls, food, drinks, gas and a boat. All the perfect ingredients for fun. We watched the Blue Angles from lake tied up to Chris’s buddies and partied on!! The Blue Angles kicked ass once again and is definetly worth seeing if you’ve never been to Washington.

The rest of the day was spent cruising around the lake and chillin. I did another post on my real estate website about it and has a little different perspective. Check it out…Pictures should be up soon too in the photo album. So pease out and as Grinchy says "taker sleazy".

Sunday

This past week I have been majorly busy with a new client for TW Resource Group and hanging with my buddy Dayzed50. Now it is time for me to sit and chillax and do nothing but what I want. As work increases, through my choice, I wonder how long I can keep it up, especially as summer creeps closer. The more I try to propigate my personal business, the less free time I have to enjoy life’s simple pleasures of family, frineds and the great outdoors. As I sit here, trying to think of reasons to blog, I find it difficult to purse what got me started blogging in the first place…

His and Her Big Screens

Sunday was such a cool because Jyll and I went out in the big bad world and conquered the evils then capturing our prizes, matching His and Her Samsung 50" Plasma HDTVs. Most couples go get matching shirts or rings but not us, we go get big screens…now that is what I am talking about.

The day started off like any other with us sleeping in and then getting up for some coffee plus bacon and eggs. Jyll got up and jumped on the pc, while I cleaned up from breakfast, and started pricing out big screens with her Quixtar membership. This soon transformed into the idea of going out and looking. The search started with us driving to the Kirkland Costco and checking out their selection. Though they didn’t have the largest selection (its not my choice for electronics) but they did have some decent TVs with decent prices. After looking we decided to go to the Costco Home Store just off 116th to see what they had. Having a more in depth selection we got to compare the screen quality and sizes through the many top brands.

Our search to us to Best Buy, Video Only and Circuit City to keep comparing screens and prices. It seemed that we were getting really serious to buy, well I was thinking that one would be sweet to bring home that day. After looking and looking Jyll and I decided to take a break and go get some dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Lynnwood. While eating spaghetti, salad, bread and tortellini, Jyll and I talked about purchasing two TVs from Best Buy (Best Buy had the better prices since we were looking at 2007 models).

Discussions became more discussion and we conveniently drove back to Best Buy to start negotiating for 2 Samsung 50" Plasma HDTVs. The negotiations were stiff but we got both TVs and one wall mount for $4,300, cha ching for some bling bling. The price was really reasonable especially since there is no interest for 12 months.

I have two say that we are happy with the purchases and TVs. Dad is coming over tomorrow night to help me mount mine on my wall which is going to be sick. Now just need the HDTV cable from Comcast. Anyhoo it is late and I need to go to work early and make some money.

Deception Pass Day Trip

Today my girlfriend, Just Jyll, and I went to Whidbey Island to visit her parents and drop off furniture. Our day was awesome and with the weather being gorgeous it made the day so much more enjoyable. We stopped off at Deception Pass and took a few pictures, Deception Pass Photo Album, which was really cool because of the views and fresh air. After we got to her parents we took a tour of the property and boy was it nicely done. the forest underbrush was cleared exposing the forest floor and making it easy to see in and out. The walk was most enjoyable and I could have easily spent all day just sitting in the woods listening to the silence. After we had dinner, Jyll and I jumped in the truck and made our way to the ferry for a nice boat ride home but made a quick detour to look at real estate in Mukilteo. By now it was raining and the wind was blowing so standing outside and enjoying the city lights wasn’t the best idea but we did it anyway. As Mukilteo approached we enjoyed the rocking of the ferry, the lights of Everett and each others hugs and soon it was time to get back into the truck. Now it is late and have been on the computer for a bit uploading images and blogging so this all for me and I am going to crawl in bed and pass out…lata.

A Weekend in Review

Tonight Jus Jyll and I are hanging out at her place eating mass snacks (kiwi, cheese, carrots, cucumber, green peppers, oranges and mangos) while we chillax. This weekend there hasn’t been a whole lot of time to jump around the net but to tell ya the truth it was kind of nice but it is also nice to sit here and mind dump the weekend.

Friday was a productive day at work and I almost completed a new webpage on the Kellogg Ridge neighborhood in Marysville. So guess it wasn’t to productive, lol, but leaving at 4:30 I headed over to my buddy’s Mike house to hang out with him and my other buddy Jake. It was hella fun to catch up since it has been a month from last time we hung out. We don’t hang out as much as we used to since I moved to Kirkland, 30+ miles away from Marysville.

Mike, Jake and I talked cars most of the night and what are plans for all our vehicles. Mike is building a 69 RS/SS Camaro and Jake is going to buy a truck like mine. It will be sweet when we are all rolling together but all in due time. We also chatted about our other buddy Mike Redwine and his travels around the world. It was some good old fashioned fun which has been missing for some time now and we stayed up to late just bullshittin away.

The next morning I was up way to early, 8:30, and headed home to meet up with Jyll for a day of traveling and pictures. After getting home and cleaned up Jyll and I headed out for our big day…we went out for lunch and then back home to veg and munch. We spent the day together on her couch eating junk and watching movies…it totally rocked and we were in bed by 10:30. It was awesome and I woke up on Sunday morning (today) at 10:00am. It felt so good and being rested I was ready to begin the day.

I got home and showered up, washed and vacummed the truck then Jyll and I hooked up for a big day. We went to Redmond Towncenter to go to Victoria Secret’s…Jack Pot…I love that store. After they we got some mean lunch at Red Robin and then headed home. I got my chores done then back to Jyll’s place which leads me right back to where I started.
